By using external components in your programming tasks you can enable supporting software such as a fully-fledged database or queue to run along with your application. For example, the source code for an app can include a database connection that the candidate must configure or use to implement their solution. The available external components are MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, MS SQL Server, Ethereum, Kafka, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, and Couchbase.

These components, if turned on, will be used during the project build. To turn on the component go to “Configure programming project” and click on the “Additional components” tab. Then, click on the button near the component that you would like to activate.

During each build, you will be able to use a fresh instance of that component after it has been turned on for the project. The details needed to connect the component in the tasks’ source code will appear after it has been activated.
